We experienced our first crawfish boil this weekend. It was chaos.
Tis' the season for crawfish and our neighbors threw a massive bash. Like 120 pounds worth in a kiddie pool. Which if you've ever had crawfish...it's really not that much meat. These suckers don't leave much to fill the stomach and they sure are ugly.
Our neighbor's dog Bella couldn't resist trying to get a taste of them while they were alive and kickin' in the pool. She got snapped at a few times. Poof also snuck his way out of the apartment a few times to eat whole cooked crawfish that had dropped on the floor. Shell, claws and all.
water, lots of crawfish boil liquid, creole spice, tons of lemons, potatos, mushrooms, onions and about 8 sticks of butter in each batch.
Bella approves.
ready!
the party consumed all 120 pounds in between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
We also drank way too much beer. My new favorite local specialty: Micheladas!

The crawfish regularly escaped the kiddie pool, this one had it out for Jason.
another fun filled night in the courtyard.
