It's Early Spring Planting Time!

So it's pretty obvious that I've been dreaming of spring since probably October. Lucky for us, this weekend was amazing! Temperatures in the mid to maybe even upper 50s had everyone out and about walking around the lake in short sleeves soaking up the sun. After having an outside lunch in the backyard, I decided to start my very early spring planting in hopes that my plants will be strong and big enough to transplant come mid April!

Everyone was so happy to be outdoors, especially this little booger.

This is ridiculous. Eat your heart out Martha Stewart.

More gardening pictures to come once things get growing!

Snowpocalypse NC Style

It's been snowing non-stop for nearly 3 days now and we are all going stir-crazy. It's beautiful though! Walking in a real life winter wonderland! This is our street:

Giant tree outside our house:
I wish we had a ruler to actually measure how much snow we have. This is in the median on the street. Seems like we have way more in our backyard. At least a foot!

Now I know this picture looks like I'm sliding down...but I'm not. Back in my youth, when I visited Canada in the winter. My cousins and I would use garbage can lids to slide down the big hill in the schoolyard behind my aunt's house. When I picked this up to use it, Tom looked at me like I was a straight up idiot. Even the neighbor went..."Is that a garbage can lid!?" I rooted myself on screaming it would work throughout the day and now I'm left wondering how did we "sled" successfully all those times in Canada!?

The snow covered house:

In the backyard, nearly up to our knees in snow!

Missing the Florida sunshine!

Happy tree

Patapouf gets so excited once he's finally out of the house but then he starts shivering. Poor little dude had snow and ice dingleberries frozen solid to his leg hairs to the point where once we got inside he didn't want to move! I had to stick him in the bath tub and fill it with some hot water to melt them off!

Find the message!

Making snow angels:

What I didn't get were pictures of us sledding down the most epic hill in our neighborhood. You slide down that thing for nearly 2 minutes and then you spend 5-10 climbing back up until you can't breathe. Apparently people have been snowboarding and skiing through the streets! We have so many awesome hills in our neighborhood! Maybe I should invest in a snowboard?!

Friday Night Blizzard

It's been snowing all day, but once the snow started hitting hard the ground covered quickly
